Rapid Changes in CDC Mandates for COVID-19. Confusion anyone?

Can We Just Follow Science and Stick With the Facts Please?

“Medicine heals the doubts as well as the disease”

Since the start of the pandemic, we have heard various explanations from the CDC nearly every day which has led to mass misinformation and confusion in our society. Even after more than a year of getting trapped in the pandemic, the CDC is changing its mandates at a speed no one can keep with. Just in the past month, CDC has given several contradictory mandates related to masks and social distancing for those who are vaccinated.

Fully Vaccinated People Still Need to Follow the Pandemic Mandates in Place

    • This was the only sound mandate that I have seen from CDC throughout our struggle with COVID-19. The two widely given vaccinations for COVID-19 in the United States are mRNA vaccines from Moderna and Pfizer. We know from the clinical trials of both the companies that these vaccines “may” protect us from severe symptoms of COVID-19 and not the infection itself. What does this mean?
      • Fully vaccinated people can still get infected similar to the unvaccinated people
      • Vaccinated persons will have mild symptoms and perhaps won’t need hospitalization
      • Those vaccinated may not have any symptoms at all and behave asymptomatic when contracting the virus.
        • This is very dangerous as they would be shedding the virus unaware that they’re sick therefore increasing the spread of the virus unknowingly.
        • It has been shown that the viral load in asymptomatic people is is larger than the severely sick people with COVID-19

For all the reasons listed above, even fully vaccinated people should follow the viral mandates in place i.e. wearing masks in public, work, etc, and maintaining the 6ft distance socially. Originally when the vaccines came out, this was a sentiment that the CDC echoed, however that changed recently.

Rapid Changes in the Above Mandates by CDC

“Is it I or the CDC is crazy”

Change #1

Out of nowhere, the CDC has wrongly decided that fully vaccinated people can meet in a group of fully vaccinated people and disregard the viral mandates they were originally requiring (masks, social distancing, etc).

Why am I questioning the logic behind this?

    1. As I explained above, the vaccine is not protecting against infection, but only against the symptoms. Therefore, the vaccinated people if infected will behave like the asymptomatic carriers of the virus.
    2. This means if anyone in that group is infected, someone or all can get infected and not know. They will then spread the virus unknowingly.
    3. This does not help at all to contain the virus.
    4. Our goal should be to get rid of the COVID-19 virus not spread it and keep it in society.

Conclusion: It is far too soon to be relaxing mandates.

Change #2

“Vaccinated people can visit with unvaccinated people from a single household who are at low risk for severe COVID-19 disease indoors without wearing masks or physical distancing,” says the CDC.

Once again, another contradictory message from the CDC. They admit that the vaccine is only protecting against the symptoms and not the infection itself and that vaccinated people might have COVID-19 infection and not know it, yet still decide to allow vaccinated people to visit the unvaccinated?

Conclusion: This mandate will only aid in spreading the virus.

Change #3

“Fully vaccinated people with no COVID-like symptoms do not need to quarantine or be tested following an exposure to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19, as their risk of infection is low”, According to CDC.

I have not come across any data that says that mRNA vaccine reduces the risk of infection. So far, all the data shows that the vaccine is effective in preventing the symptoms of the disease and not the infection itself.

The constant changes, lack of logic, and hypocrisy cause the general public to get confused about the real information on the pandemic. The CDC’s new mandates have led most people to believe that since they are vaccinated, they are at no risk of contracting COVID-19. In addition, they think they will not transmit the disease to others. Thus far, this is completely false and very dangerous.

Lastly, the CDC gives a warning of “impending doom”

Why is that? If the vaccine is working well enough that the CDC is relaxing the social mandates for the vaccinated people, there should there be no fear of impending doom. The variant strains that the vaccine has not been shown effective for are not the dominant strains in the United States. In February 2021, it was announced that the vaccine has caused the infection rates to drop. The CDC even gave guidelines to open schools (once again changing and confusing guidelines).

Simply put, it cannot be that both the vaccines are working well enough against COVID-19 AND that there is still impending doom. It has to be one or the other. So, which is it? Are we in the clear from COVID-19 thanks to the vaccine or is there “impending doom” and the CDC should not be relaxing any restrictions even for those who are vaccinated?

April 27, 2021. Another change in mandate from the CDC

As I was about to publish this article, CDC sent another change in the mandate for the fully vaccinated people:

  • Fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask outdoors, except in certain crowded settings and venues.
  • Clarification that fully vaccinated workers no longer need to be restricted from work following exposure as long as they are asymptomatic.
  • Fully vaccinated residents of non-healthcare congregate settings no longer need to quarantine following a known exposure.
  • Fully vaccinated asymptomatic people without exposure may be exempted from routine screening testing, if feasible.

Impending Doom?

Above I questioned why is CDC warning us about impending doom. Seeing the latest mandates from April 27, 2021 I will have to admit the impending doom might be there because CDC is causing it.

Changing the foggy maze into clear straight, visible facts

Let’s straighten out the confusing statements from the CDC so we all can  understand the role the COVID-19 mRNA vaccines are playing:

  1. The vaccinated people can still get infected by the COVID-19 virus similar to the unvaccinated people i.e. they are not at reduced risk to contract the viral infection
  2. The vaccinated people, when infected, can be asymptomatic and not know that they have contracted the infection i.e. a false sense of security
  3. Asymptomatic carriers are always more dangerous than symptomatic patients because they spread the viral particles unknowingly and infect more people
  4. Relaxing mandates for the vaccinated people will only aid in spreading the virus
  5. There is no data on how long the immunity in vaccinated people lasts provided they do develop an immunity. To be on the very positive side, could be 6-8 months (based on the patients who did develop antibodies to the virus). But could be as short as 3 months in the vaccinated people
  6. Just because you had a response to the vaccine, does not mean you have antibodies that have memory. In fact, it doesn’t even mean you have produced antibodies at all.

Take home message: It would be wise for the vaccinated people to follow the mandates similar to the unvaccinated people to avoid contracting the infection and/or transmitting the infection.
